Dear Jackie and PJ,
2020 was the first year I did not hear from you at Christmas. I was concerned and today googled you, Jackie, to assure myself that all was well with you. Instead, I found this horrible news. There are no words to express how sorry I am for your terrible loss. I know how proud you were of Peter. May your deep faith sustain you at this time and may happy memories bring you comfort and peace. Love and prayers, Dorothy Habben

Jackie,

You can truly take solace that Peter will always be a part of your soul and life, and will be there as part of your beautiful family in both spirit and mind. The love that binds all of you will last forever.

He has already done great and aspirational things to make this world a better place and he will continue to leave his mark on this earth from afar. He is an inspiration to everyone he has touched or known, even those that did not know him personally.

It is with extremely heavy-hearts that my wife and I extend our deepest condolence to you and your family.

Dear Jackie and PJ,

I cannot even begin to express how devastated I am for you. I remember when Peter would come around the main NSU campus, and how your face would light up, Jackie, when you would see him and talk about him. I know he brought you such light and joy, and I hope his memory continues to be a blessing for all of you. You are in my thoughts and in my heart.

Pete, you are an improvisational delight who will continue to be a beacon for all who know, and all who don’t... because your presence is such. This evanescence moment, clipped from an improvised sharing of a sliver of the marvels that you carried in your head and so spontaneously and generously shared with all of us is exactly how you will always be remembered: making us smile, making us think. I love you brother, and I continue to smile because of you.

Peter was in my 5th Grade class. He was a shining light each and every day! Just last year, Peter and I reminisced about how he studied the history of the Billy Joel song, “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” Peter knew EVERY word! My heart is sick for Peter’s family! May his memory be a blessing.

Peter, I will always remember you coming into my AP Spanish class signing in Spanish your favorite song: "Libre" (Free). I can help but to smile everytime I remember all the happy memories of our school trips to Spain (you came two summers in a row!), and how you were sure you would meet a beautiful Spanish girl to marry her... You managed to make us laugh every day, and as usual, you are leaving us with a smile on our faces when we think of you. Thanks for the memories, Peter.

Peter always brought joy to his classmates and friends. As his teacher, I enjoyed every moment of time I had with him. He was creative, engaging, and bright, and he was one of my "at school" children. I am heartbroken that he will never again come through my door singing a Sinatra song or spend hours talking with me about video games and movies. Our community has lost one of our brightest stars. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear Jackie, Pete and family Please accept my condolence during this very unbelievably sad time I was so very sorry to hear of the tragic accident. I did not know Peter well but remember the kindness he showed to his cousin, who had special needs, while attending Marla and Jeff's wedding. Peter was a young teen at the time and I knew he was a special young man.
