Philip Guzzetta Obituary

Guzzetta, Dr. Philip C., 90, of Delray Beach died October 18, 2005 at the Boca Raton Community Hospital. Mr. Guzzetta was born on February 13, 1915 to Philip Guzzetta and Antonina LaPiata Guzzetta. He graduated from Marquette University and Marquette University Medical School, Milwaukee, WI and in 1939 joined the Navy and married Ann E. Suchomel. He was a career surgeon in the United States Navy, serving during World War II in both the European and Pacific theaters, retiring in 1953 from the Navy. He continued to practice General Surgery in Milwaukee County, Miseracordia, and Elmbrook Hospitals. After his first wife died, he married Eleanor Piironen on May 15, 1991. His son, Denis, died in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; and his children, Kathleen, Susan, Philip Jr., John, Paul, Robert, and William; fourteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. The memorial service is to be held on Friday, October 21st at 10:30 AM at Emmanuel Catholic Church in Delray Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic charity of your choice. Babione Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements 561-395-8787.
