Dearest Chris & Clae - Oh my gosh --Tom & I were just blown back when we got an e-mail from Donna about Rich. We would not have known otherwise. Our hearts have been heavy, heavy for you.

We have the bestest memories of our friend, Rich. We remember so clearly how he came by the townhouse & stayed for at least an hour & talked, entertained us w/more people stories than any one person could possibly know, made us laugh & was just a delight.

When we came to Bible studies at your home, you both made us feel so loved & we grew in wisdom & love for our Lord. That was when I first met you & Clae.

When we first met Rich, it was at the code office & we remember seeing the picture of the 3 of you on the beach. Oh, he was so proud of "his" girls.

Actually, his love for Lena & his sons/spouses & grandchildren was so refreshing. He would always share how proud he was of them & both of you were a blessing to Lena.

I tear up as I write for truly, we thought Rich was the greatest & he had that way of making us feel like we were important to him.

Truly, it was a blessing when you were brought together as your relationship was the symbol of the best! I have just finished studying the Proverbs 31 wife & no doubt, you were that wife to Rich. He was SO, SO happy to be your husband. What a gift you were to each other & to us!

We love you & are w/you in prayer & love! We'll be in BB in late December. Much love - Anne & Tom Simmons

Dear Chris
The news of Rich's sudden death came as such a shock to us and today our hearts are heavy. We will spend it remembering his contagious laught and the many good times we had growing up in Vt. Though we did not have many times together in the past years, we always looked forward to seeing you both during our visits with aunt Lena. We will surely miss his great stories and jolly spirit and how grateful we are for the time we were able to share with all of you this summer.
As for words to console you at this time, we know from experience that there are none, but please know we are with all of you in spirit and prayer during this difficult time
Love
