Robert W. Bieber

Bieber, Robert W., Lt. Col., USAF (Ret.), American Ex-POW, WWII, born in Wichita, KS July 11, 1923, passed away on June 19, 2006. "Bieb" flew B-24's in the 8th Air Force. Shot down, he was in Mooseburg POW camp, Stalag Luft VIIA until liberated by Patton. He retired in 1966. He was a graduate of U of NB. After retirement, he worked in the ophthalmic industry. Bieb served on the Board of the American Ex-POW Service Foundation and Nat'l. Academy of Opticianry. He is survived by his wife Sherrie, three children Cindie, Randy, Rick, six grandchildren and sister Patty. Memorial services will be at First Presbyterian Church, Pompano Beach July 9 at 3:30pm.
