Robert Bieber Obituary

Bieber, Robert W., Lt. Col., USAF (Ret.), American Ex-POW, WWII, born in Wichita, KS July 11, 1923, passed away on June 19, 2006. "Bieb" flew B-24's in the 8th Air Force. Shot down, he was in Mooseburg POW camp, Stalag Luft VIIA until liberated by Patton. He retired in 1966. He was a graduate of U of NB. After retirement, he worked in the ophthalmic industry. Bieb served on the Board of the American Ex-POW Service Foundation and Nat'l. Academy of Opticianry. He is survived by his wife Sherrie, three children Cindie, Randy, Rick, six grandchildren and sister Patty. Memorial services will be at First Presbyterian Church, Pompano Beach July 9 at 3:30pm. Burial Services will be at Arlington National Cemetery, July 17 at 2:00 pm. Donations may be made to American Ex-POW Service Foundation c/o Bieber, 17268 Antigua Pt. Way, Boca Raton, FL 33487 or Bieber Fund, First Presbyterian Church, 2331 NE 26th Avenue, Pompano Beach, FL 33062. Arrangements by Gary Panoch Funeral Home & Cremations, 561-997-8580.
