Sheldon S. Polish

1943 - 2021

Sheldon Polish, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and good friend, passed away on August 18, 2021.

He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on February 14, 1943 to Jack and Shirley Polish.

Shelly graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in Accounting. He worked for the IRS in Cleveland while going to Cleveland Marshall College of Law at night where he earned his JD degree. Upon graduation he moved to the IRS in Washington, DC. In 1973 he moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to join Ernst & Young as a CPA where he spent the next 20 years. Shelly always dreamed of practicing law, so in 1993 he joined Greenberg Traurig, and then in 2003 moved to Berger Singerman, where he completed his career. He served as president of The Jewish Federation of Ft. Lauderdale, as well as serving on the boards of several other organizations, including Jewish Family Services.

Shelly's greatest love was reserved for his family and friends. He had a huge heart, and was always there to provide help or advice to anyone in need. He was especially proud of his wonderful family, and they were proud of him.

Shelly is survived by his adoring wife Lois, son Jack (Barbara) Polish, and daughter Cheryl (Josh) Rosenberg, both of Atlanta, as well as grandchildren Jordan and Sampson Polish, and Sadie and Hannah Rosenberg.

His memorial service and interment will be private, due to Covid restrictions.
