Mrs. Berkowitz an family, I was deeply saddened to find this obituary for Dr. Berkowitz. You may not remember me, but I hold a very special place in my heart for both Dr. and Mrs. Berkowitz. I remember how they tried to get to my wedding so that Dr. Berkowitz could give me away, only to be thrawted by the rain. My mother always had nothing but good things to say about Dr. Berkowitz right up to her own death in 1998. May God bless all of you. Vachele Lewis, daughter of Marion Gantt

Mrs.B and Family,
Wanted to let you know how sorry I was to hear of your loss. You and your family are in our prayers. Dr.B was a special and true person. He loved his family and his patients loved him. He was more than a physician to them over the years, he was someone they could come to and share life problems and he would listen. I will always be thankful for having the opportunity to know such a great man who mentored me and taught me life lessons that I will carry a lifetime. I hold so many stories that he would share, one comes to mind when he was still delivering babies and he rented a house down the shore when his kids were small. As soon as he would finally get there he would tell us that his wife (with a gleam in his eye when he spoke of Ginger) was standing at the door to tell him to go back to the hospital another patient was in labor. He would laugh and say he drove up and down that parkway from NJ to PA about 12 times that weekend-then he said he never rented another shore house till he stopped delivering babies. I will remember Dr.B and his stories for a lifetime.
