I was first introduced to the Construction Industry in 1973,
when my Father Mr. John E. Custer, opened the doors
to his firm called Roof Structures of Florida, located in the
Gateway Industrial Park, New Office Warehouse Complex.
Mr. Terry Stiles handed him the Keys. It was his Father Howard Stiles,
who had Constructed the Office WareHouse Complex,
just a few years prior. The company grew into
what is now called Structural Roof Systems.
I am so honored to tell you this amazing story.
The years went by and in 2013, my Father John E. Custer,
formerly introduced me to Mr. Terry Stiles,
while we were having lunch. I will always remember
Mr. Stiles smile. He spoke of the past which would now
become the future of this wonderful city, we call
Fort Lauderdale, The Venice Of America.
I felt so honored that day, that I will remember for years
into the future.
Two of the Greatest Men I've ever known................
My Father and Mr. Terry Stiles

I can't believe That I even have to write this. Terry And I grew up together and we were each others best friends at Northeast High School. We worked out together, spent a lot of time together, and attended Boys State. We founded many scocial clubs. His father, Howard, gave Terry and me our first paying jobs cutting lawns in a new development called Tamarac in 1962. We were part of Northeast's first football team. We spent a lot of time at his parent's cottage at Estero in Ft. Meyers Beach. Our girlfriends were not happy. Even though I was the 1st student government president at Northest, Terry beat me out to become president of the 1st graduating class. I feel very bad that we didn't keep in touch.
To his family, I feel your pain. Goodbye #81 from #26

I didn't personally know Terry very well. He was married to one of my close friends Jamie. They were crazy about one another and blessed to have been able to build a life together. I'm sure he will be remembered by all those whose lives he touched. I was very sad to hear of his passing. My sincerest condolences to Jamie and members of his family. He might not be with us any longer but he will live on in our hearts and memories. .

Few experience a marriage with such love and kindness to one another as Terry and Jamie. Jamie you are blessed to have had this wonderful man in your life as you well know. You will carry those good memories and warmth of his love for the rest of your life, along with the grief. With time you will find your path to continue forward, no doubt in a way that Terry would have wanted for you. God Bless you and your families.

Please accept our most sincere condolences for the loss of Terry. I only met him years ago when Jamie and Carrie were married, and instantly knew this was a great and compassionate man with many virtues. God bless the family and may they find comfort that he is no longer in pain or suffering after a well fought battle.

I have known Terry for well over 50 years. When I moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Really. Oakland Park, I was accepted by Terry and his group of fiends at Northeast HS, for which I will be forever qreatful. We did remain in touch over the years and I followed his amazing career. I believe his reward will come in meeting our Lord and his memories will remain forever in his family and friends hearts.
