To Dr. Tufts family, words cannot express my sadness for your loss. I am so very sorry. You don't need me to tell you what a wonderful man he was..but he was. Thank you Dr. Tufts for your kindness, compassion and professionalism. I too left south Florida... moving to Georgia. I came back to Dr. Tufts annually for my appointments. A casual comment made to me during one appointment happened to affect my husband and saved him from a certain needless surgery. Dr. Tufts rest in peace, and thank you, thank you, thank you.

I received the news of Dr. Tufts' passing yesterday when I called to make my annual appointment. I am still numb. I was one patient who had a scare, yet Dr. Tufts AND his wife were "angels" during an office procedure I had. Dr. Tufts was a skilled practioner and most importantly, a kind man. I pray that God will continue to be with the Tufts family during this difficult time.

What a terrible loss. Dr. Tufts was an extraordianry man. Like many other women, I too had a scare, 2 times and Dr. Tufts was right there to explain to me the findings, and reassure me that I was fine. In fact, I was. Thank you for all of the years you dedicated to many women in and out of South Florida.
Rest In Peace.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I too went to Dr. Tufts for my mammograms for many years- and he put my mind at ease several times when I had a "scare". He had such a lovely manner, combining his incredible knowledge with a caring, reassuring tone. I was always impressed with the time he took to explain everything to help me better understand- he never seemed in a rush.
I will miss him terribly and am grateful to have had him caring for me.

Dr. Tufts was my doctor, but he was so much more than that. As a fourteen year breast cancer survivor, it was his knowledge and expertise that assured me year after year that, yes, I was still cancer-free. I will miss him as my doctor, but even more so as the caring and compassionate person that gave hope to so many. He truly cared about me, as I know he did about all of his patients. I am so deeply shocked and saddened by Dr. Tufts passing that I am absolutely shaken. Was just about to make my annual appointment. His expertise and soft spoken ways have always been a comfort to so many, including my mother Amy and so many others that absolutely swore by him. I remember each time I left the office I made a little prayer that he would live a very long life. Alas, that wasn't to be. Rest in peace to one of the most wonderful men in medicine there will ever be. My sincerest condolences to his family and staff, and... to all the other women out there that feel as I do.

I am deeply saddened that Dr. Tufts passed away. I have been going to Dr. Tufts for many years for my mammograms, even though my insurance didn't cover the visit. I moved to Central Florida and continued to travel 3.5 hours away for my mammogram with Dr. Tufts. Dr. Tufts saved the life of one of my friends because he found the cancer before it was too late. He was such a gentle, soft-spoken man and he will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loving family. God bless you all.
