Valeria A. "Val" Wieczorek

Wieczorek, Valeria A. "Val", of Davie, FL, originally from Chicago, IL, passed away on Tuesday, Dec 2, 2008. A resident of West Broward since 1970. She was active in the community as a member of St. Gregory Women's Guild, Friends of Plantation Library and the Vista Lakes Homeowner Association. For the last 19 years she was the librarian and library science teacher at Saint David's Catholic School. She was an active member at St. David's Catholic Church and School. She is predeceased by her sister, Glory Prichard. She is survived by her husband, Alfred B. Wieczorek of Davie, FL; children, Debbie Balaschak and her husband, Jim, of Winter Park, FL; Fred Wieczorek and his wife, D.Jay, of Cooper City, FL; Chris Wieczorek of Arlington, VA; brother, Rik Alex of Wayne, IL, and Kurt Alex of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Sarah, Brian, Alfred (A.J.), and Richard. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home, a prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 12:30 PM at St. David's Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Church.
