Vivian Bergman

Bergman, Vivian (Banks) age 90 of Boca Raton, Florida died Thursday at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Norfolk Virginia she had resided in Hillside most of her life before moving to Boca Raton, Florida twenty years ago .Beloved wife of Dr. Burton Bergman, whom she met at Beth Israel Hospital Newark,NJ while working as a registered nurse. They married on January 4,1948 and loved for 65 wonderful years. Active in Hadassah, Boca Teeca Para Medics and various charities. She and her husband were founding members of Congregation Shomrei Torah in Hillside. They spent many wonderful summers in the Adirondacks New York. She enjoyed life in every way and all who came into hers.The Jewish holidays of Passover, Break the Fast and entertaining were a passion, card games, and the theater. Mrs. Begman and her husband were owners of thoroughbred horses and were racing enthusiasts, especially at Monmouth Park Racetrack and Saratoga Racetrack in New York. A spectator of every sport with special passion for the NY Giants she was a role model for her children and will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She is survivied by her husband Dr. Burton Bergman, and her children and their spouses Beverly & David Strauss, Susan and Malcolm Hermele,Nancy and Larry Pantirer, and Samuel and Elisa Bergman. Bubbi of David,Marc,Mollie (Conor) ,Elizabeth, Charles, and Harris. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday 1pm in Menorah Chapels at Millburn 2950 Vauxhall Road Union,NJ. Interment Beth Israel Cemetery Woodbridge,NJ.
