W. Michael Brinkley

Brinkley Brinkley, W. Michael 68, passed away November 30, 2010 in Asheville, NC. He is survived by Amy, his wife; W. Michael Brinkley, Jr. and Cindy, his son and daughter-in-law, Olivia and Sophia, his granddaughters; Christina and Dennis Cantrell, his daughter and son-in-law; Bonnie and Stan Dobosz, his sister and brother-in-law, a niece, and two nephews; his aunt and several cousins. Michael Brinkley received his Bachelor?s degree in History and Political Science from the University of Florida in 1965 where he was a member of Florida Blue Key and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1968. He was the first President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Broward County Bar Association 1972-1973. He founded Brinkley Morgan in 1975 and led the law firm through several expansions until his retirement in 2006. He was a member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Beach Council, Downtown Council Steering Committee and the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Marine Industry Association of South Florida, the Fort Lauderdale Mariner?s Club, the Cultural Foundation of Broward and the Fort Lauderdale Historic Society. He was an avid boater and he and his wife, Amy, loved piloting their boat to the Bahamas. Services will be held in Asheville, NC on Dec. 11, and in Fort Lauderdale, FL at a later date.
