Daniel Sams Obituary
Daniel (Dan) Sams passed away Wednesday, March 17th, 2021, at the age of 67 peacefully with his family near his side. Dan was born May 17th, 1953, in Joplin, MO, the son of Jay Frank Sams and Joanne Cecilia Fitzgerald (Sams). Dan's father Jay, brother Pat Sams, and man's best friend Bruiser preceded him in death.
Dan is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Sams, the truest love of his life; Mother Joanne Sams; Sister Melissa and husband Gary Fields; two brothers Andy and wife Casey Sams; Pete and wife Angie Sams; and three children, Ty and wife Heather Sams; Jake and wife Jordin Sams; Danielle and husband Matt Mauldin; along with his 8 grandchildren Reagan, Reese, Rylan, Kensington, Everly, Luke, Baker, and Beau.
Dan was a retired Electrician of 30+ years. He worked hard his entire life and there was never a day he wouldn't help someone that needed it.
Dan was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He enjoyed frequent fishing tournaments and long time friends Dennis and Johnnie. His kids and grandkids were the pride and joy of his life. He was a loving father that was incredibly proud of his children. Ironically, the Irish in him enjoyed a good (cheap) bottle of bourbon so he would want his life to be celebrated by his friends and family in that exact way.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 20th at 10a.m at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel for family and friends.
