David Tylor
David Blair Tyler, loving father of Hannah, Michael and Andrew, passed away Aug 30, 2018, at the age of 52. David, the son of the late J.B. "Bud" Tyler and Artela Bullock Tyler, was born April 7, 1966, in Fort Smith. As a child, David lived in Guam, Japan, Hawaii, Arkansas and Oklahoma, but spent most of his adolescence in Slidell, La., graduating from Slidell High School in 1984. He later received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and marketing along with a Master of Business Administration in finance from the University of Houston.
David was a successful commercial real estate executive and property manager for 20 years in the Houston area with Hines, Moody Rambin Interests, Jones Lang LaSalle and most recently was a general manager for Transwestern. He often shared fond memories of colleagues and friends and found opportunities to provide mentorship especially rewarding.
David was a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend who will be missed for his delightful wit, his warmth and kindness and his extraordinary empathy. His high energy and charismatic personality were infectious and his ability to find humor in any situation and to make us laugh made David someone everyone wanted to be around. David had a beautiful and generous heart, ready to freely give to anyone in need of love and compassion.
Much to the dismay of opposing teams, David was a gifted and natural athlete and a passionate teammate who quickly mastered most any sport, excelling in soccer, basketball, track and golf. He derived great joy from watching his children play sports, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with them and simply being their dad.
In addition to his children in Houston, David is survived by brothers, Joel Tyler of Rogers and Dennis (Karen) Tyler of Houston; sisters, Laurel Tyler of Annapolis, Md., and Tammy King Jones (Terry) of Mayflower; uncles, James Bullock (Dottie) of Las Cruces, N.M., and Dennis Tyler (Becky) of Springdale. Surviving him also are his beloved nieces, Courtney (Ryan) and Ali; nephews, Joel and Luke; great-niece and –nephew; five cousins; Bean family in-laws; and countless friends, all of whom he loved very much.
Besides his parents, who strongly influenced his faith in God, David was predeceased by two precious aunts, Marilyn Bullock King (Jimmy) and Patricia Tyler Johnson (Charlie); along with numerous much-adored pets.
