Jared Fowler Obituary

Jared Fowler
Jared Steven Fowler, who resided in Greenwood, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2021, at his home. He was born November 13, 1976, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Steve D. Fowler and Janet Sue Spicer Fowler. He was 44 years old. He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Fowler; his paternal grandparents, Clarence and June Fowler; and maternal grandparents, O.J. and Eula Mae Spicer.
Jared obtained his Bachelor of Business degree from UAFS (formerly Westark) and was a business owner/operator of Fowler Custom Lawns, Triple R and Central Storage, Charleston Self-Storage, and Lavaca and Charleston Car Washes. He coached little league football and basketball in Greenwood and Lavaca, was active in Children's Ministry at his church and attended Community Bible Church in Greenwood. Jared was a loving and devoted brother, son, husband and especially father. His best moments were spent with his children, after work, teaching them God's word and praying with them - no matter how tired he felt.
Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 4th, at First Baptist Church in Lavaca, with Dr. Grant Ethridge officiating. A private burial will be at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood prior to the service under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home and Flower Shop in Charleston.
He is survived by his wife, Kerri (Brewer) Fowler; his three children, Spicer Beth Fowler, Axl Joe Steven Fowler, and Judah Lou Fowler; his mother, Janet Fowler of Lavaca; a sister, Lora Cloyde and husband Tyler of Lavaca; his in-laws, Barry and Tina Brewer of Lavaca; his sister-in-law, Mindy Chronister and husband Ryan of Lavaca; his nieces and nephews, Luke, Drew, and Lily Cloyde and Hank Chronister; his aunt, Vickie Spicer of Scranton; his uncle, Jimmy Don Spicer and wife Thelma of Paris; and his me-me-in-law, Lou Ellen Brewer Manes of Lavaca.
Following the service, the family will visit with friends and family in the church atrium. (Feel free to wear your because of JESUS shirts, if you would like.)
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a college fund for the children at First National Bank of Fort Smith (any location).

Jared was an amazing young man! He was one of the first employees that I hired in 1994. He worked for me during the summers and some evenings while I’m school. I never had a better employee. He had an amazing work ethic, and always worked to please others. He always had a smile on his face. I knew I would not be able to keep him long term. He had dreams and goals. I will always remember Jared as a wonderful person and friend!

I only knew Jared through a friend and via Kerri’s sweet and Jesus honoring posts, but we were part of the same family. He was my brother in Christ. As I prayed for him and the family, I became invested in his life and journey. His and Kerri’s love of Jesus was so evident.

What a testimony Jared lived of sharing Jesus! His life has and will continue to be a testimony of who Jesus is. God is definitely saying, Well done, my son!”
