MARION, Va.
Adrain Nadine Welch Vipperman, age 81, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tenn.
Mrs. Vipperman was a hard worker. She worked for about 20 years at Harwood, came home to milk the cows and help her husband on the family farm. Nadine helped run Vipperman's Grocery for several years. When she wasn't working, she was a loving, supportive wife, mom, and mamaw to the family she adored. Her name could have been "Betty Crocker"; her family and many friends always loved her cooking. Nadine loved trying out new recipes and canning. Mrs. Vipperman loved her Lord and enjoyed singing in the church choir, praying for everyone, and just being a sweet-sweet lady.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Claude G. Vipperman; parents, James and Rosa Welch; and several brothers and sisters.
Nadine is survived by her daughter, Connielynn V. Smith of Marion Va.; son, George Vipperman and wife, Melissa Ann, of Marion, Va.; four grandchildren, Zachary Vipperman, Matthew Vipperman, Jordan D. Smith and wife, Amanda, and Aaron J. Smith and wife, Michelle; eight great-grandchildren, Austin, Connor, Olin, Caleb, Fred, Parker, Ellie and McKenzie Smith, all of Marion, Va.; sister, Maggie Welch Bonham of Atkins, Va.; brother, Alfred Welch of Georgia; brother-in-law, Jack Vipperman and wife, Gail, of Rural Retreat, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 8 p.m. with Pastor Shawn Womack and Greg Sheets officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 21, 2022, at 2p.m. at Blue Springs Cemetery, 168 Blue Springs Road, Rural Retreat, VA 24368. Family and friends are asked to meet at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home by 1:30 p.m. for procession to the graveside.
