Charlotte Wright Obituary
Charlotte Diana Wright, 69, of Hollybrook, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 31, 2022. She was born on August 9, 1952, in Radford, Va.
Charlotte was a proud graduate of Wytheville Community College. She was a charter member of the VFW Post #7969 auxiliary and served for 36 years where she held both President and Secretary positions. She attended church at the Hollybrook Church of Christ. She enjoyed travelling, going to concerts and scrapbooking. She enjoyed watching racing and was a Bill Elliot fan. She especially enjoyed working with flowers and her gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Phyllis Burton Campbell and her husband, Jerry David Wright. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Darrell Wright; her daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela Wright (Chad Slate), Karen (Stuart) Bobbitt, and Bridget Allen (Perry Mabe); her grandchildren, D.J. and Heather Wright, Brittany Allen, Brandon Cressell, Shannon Cressell and Hunter Wright; her great-grandchildren, Sawyer Wright and Will Kaltenberg; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita and David Melvin and Glenda and Kenny Wright; special friends, Dreama Webb, Jean Sexton, Annette Burton, "LeeLee" Burton, Carla Eidson and Tiffany Wright; and many special nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Thursday, February 3, 2022, 2 p.m. at Mountain Field Cemetery with Minister Jim Conley officiating.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Highlands Ambulance Service, especially to T.J. and Mary, and Trina Sluss, N.P., for your loving care throughout the years.

There isn't a childhood memory I have that Aunt Charlotte isn't in. From playing in her home and her feed me with the rest of the family to her taking Pamala, Darrel and I trick or treating and I giving me rides home from cheer practice and ballgames. To giving me a ride to my first dance. Charlotte was always there for me. I spent more time at her home than my own growing up, she practically raised me. She was so cool when she caught Pamala and I smoking she didn't tell my parents, but she punished me herself, trust me there was no need to need to tell my parents. She was my second mom, and my favorite aunt. I am so sorry I didn't find out until after her funeral. I would have been there for my family. I will forever love and miss you Aunt Charlotte. You were the best.

I could tell a thousand Charlotte stories. I knew her from dialysis and was lucky enough to call her friend. She was a wonderful person and the world is a bit dimmer for her absence but I know her light shines above. I will miss her and all she meant to me.

So very sad to learn of Charlotte's passing. She was truly a dear friend and my Auxiliary President for many years. The Veterans of Foreign War have definitely lost a true patriot. Her love for her country and the Veterans that have served in the past and are continuing to serve, have to know that her dedication to them was beyond measure. Our deepest condolences to her family , whom she loved very much, may they find comfort in their memories of her. May she Rest in Peace.

Charlotte always had a smile on her face. She never changed. She went to school with my sister Kathy. Was so sorry to hear of her passing.
