MARION, Va.
Gail " Nanny" Hayden, age 68, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at her home in Marion, Va., surrounded by her family.
To know Gail was to love Gail. And everybody did! She loved her family fiercely, especially the grandbabies, who were her greatest joy. Gail was known to most by name and by heart as Nanny. If you you've had cake more than once in your life, she probably made it. She had a great laugh and love for everyone. She was Nanny to many. Gail loved the Lord and was so thankful for her Falling Water Baptist Church family. She will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Malissa Crewey; and brother, Harold Crewey.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Sherry Hayden Nelson and husband, Greg, of Marion, Va.; sister-in-law, Billie Crewey of Georgetown, Ky.; four grandchildren, Dustin Hayden and wife, Brandy, Alli Gross, step grandchildren, Corey Horton and wife, Ashley, and Matthew Nelson, all of Marion ,Va.; seven great-grandchildren, Alexa, Sophia, Bryleigh, Kainon, Atticus, Theia, Gunner; and two special nieces, Malissa Contreras and husband, José, and Wendy Hammack and husband, George.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Cody Boone and Pastor Jerry Creasy officiating. Burial will follow in Walker's Creek Fellowship Cemetery, Marion, Va.
