Melissa Boothe Obituary

Melissa "Missy" Boothe

August 23, 1979 - November 15, 2020

WYTHEVILLE, Va.

Melissa "Missy" Boothe, 41, passed away on November 15, 2020, at 12 p.m. at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery, in Blacksburg, Va.

She was born on August 23, 1979, in Richlands, Virginia, to Harold and Debra Kennedy. She married the love of her life, Sam Boothe, on October 14, 1995, who survives.

in addition to her husband, she is also survived by her three sons, Kenny, Christopher, and Dylan Boothe; her daughter, Ally Boothe; her daughter-in-law, Lauren Boothe; her future children-in-law, Autumn Guthrie and Connor Fowler; her dogs, Bo and Storm; her parents, Harold and Debra Kennedy; and her brother, Brad Kennedy.

Early in her life, she was a stay at home mom for her children. She went on to become a licensed massage therapist afterwards. She went back to school to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse at the age of 38, and became a licensed practical nurse, graduating from New River Community College in August of 2019. Missy's goal in life was always to help people, and she was able to fulfill that dream in her profession.

Missy loved to cook, exercise, and was an avid animal lover, but most of all, she loved to spend time with her family. Her children were more important to her than anything in the world, and her life revolved around making them happy. She rarely spent any free time without her husband, kids, or dogs. Her smile and laugh would light up the room, and her kindness was infectious to those around her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at the Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion, with Pastor Kenny Rich officiating. Interment will follow at South Fork Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to services. Everyone is asked to observe the covid-19 guidelines with mask and social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wythe County Humane Society in memory of Missy Boothe, P.O. Box 362, Wytheville, VA 24382. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home is serving the Boothe family.

I got to know Missy while seeing her for massage therapy on an almost weekly basis and she absolutely had the kindest, sweetest, soul of anyone I've ever known. Her smile was contagious and our conversations were most often centered around her children and husband, that she so obviously adored. My most heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with her entire family during this difficult time. May the Lord wrap you in His arms and provide for you a piece that only He is able. She will forever be remembered and missed.

I’m so sorry to hear about Missy. I was in massage school with her . She would always talk about her kids and the love of her life. She was so proud of you all . I would always joke with her about her running on treadmill all the time. She truly was a blessing in class and was wonderful to talk to. We were paired a lot. I told her she was super woman bc she done so much for others and still got on her treadmill. I’m sending prayers to everyone and pray that God will help you during this hard time . She was a rock star

Dr. Boothe and Family,
I am still in shock and disbelief to learn of Missy’s passing. She was truly one of the most caring people I have ever met. Her beautiful smile was contagious. She could raise your spirits just by walking into the room. We shared many family stories( comparing our children and pets) and how obvious it was that her family was the center of her life. How blessed I am to have shared in a small part of her life. My heart goes out to the family and may God be with you during this most difficult time.

Boothe Family,

I had the honor of going through nursing school with Missy. She came on into our program our second semester , so many of us were meeting missy for the first time. I will never forget how stunningly beautiful she was. Her smile lit up the room , and from then on it was quickly apparent that she had a heart to match. Missy and I bonded over 2 things , the first being that we both had 3 boys ... and spent every spare second that we could with our families. Missy spoke of her children often and when she did I could see the joy in her eyes. She loved her husband so much , and also shared stories of them together. Missy was also an amazing nursing student , and I admired her for her calm, patient , and selfless demeanor. I knew she would make a wonderful nurse. She never passed up an opportunity to help others during clinicals , and was driven by her passion to help others.
My heart is so broken and my deepest condolences go out to her husband and children. You all are in my thoughts and prayers during this time.

This breaks my heart. Missy helped me when others could not. Her hands touched and healed my body and her personality and warm smile lit up the room. She was the sweetest lady I have met. She really loved her family as we often shared "mothering" stories. May God comfort this family as only he can and may her memories always bring smiles in the years to come.
