Debra Wolfe Obituary

With immense love and profound sadness, the family of Debra Ann "Debbie" Wolfe, 68, announces her passing on October 10, 2025, surrounded by those who loved her most. Born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1957, in Staten Island, NY, Debbie embodied the spirit of that day-radiating love, warmth, and compassion to everyone fortunate enough to know her. She later moved to Syracuse, NY, in 1980, where she and her husband, Joe, built a life rooted in family, laughter, and memories that will last forever.
In February 2014, Debbie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. True to who she was, she faced every challenge with remarkable courage, grace, and strength-fighting a long, hard, and inspiring battle. Through it all, she never lost her faith in God. Her trust in His plan and her belief in His presence carried her and those around her through even the hardest moments. Her perseverance became a testament to the love she carried for her family and the unshakable light that defined her spirit.
Debbie was a ray of light to all who crossed her path. She lived for connection, for laughter, and for making every moment count. She dedicated her life to her children and family, and the pride she felt for them was immeasurable-the very heartbeat of who she was. Her love was fierce, her hugs were tight, and her smile could fill an entire room.
She often called her husband, Joe, her "hero," and those who knew them could see why-their 45-year love story was one of loyalty, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Her favorite sayings-"it's a memory," "don't be bashful," and "make every day count"-perfectly captured how she lived and how she encouraged others to live as well.
Debbie was predeceased by her beloved parents, Salvatore and Marlene Orlando, and her brother, Wayne Orlando.
She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joseph Wolfe; their children Alison Wolfe (James Boutin), Wayne (Andrea) Wolfe, Lauren (Anthony) Rhee, and Kelli Ann Wolfe; and her adored grandchildren Brinley, William, Joseph, Lincoln, and Max. She also leaves behind many cherished brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless lifelong friends who were blessed by her love and loyalty.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 PM at St. Charles Church, 501 South Orchard, Syracuse. A Catholic Mass and Burial will follow at 10AM on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at St. Charles, with interment immediately following at Greenlawn Cemetery in Warners, NY.
When you remember Debbie, remember her smile that lit up every room, her too-tight hugs, and her boundless kindness. Remember her joy for life, her devotion to family, and her constant reminder to "make every day count."
Flowers are welcome, and donations may also be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central New York in Debbie's name.

My sincere condolences to the Wolfe family. Such a genuine good heart. I'll never forget her at our family gatherings wen I was young, she was always my favorite person i couldn't wait to see. Whenever we use to go to her folks house on Staten Island I would always have to take a nap and it was in her room,I'll never forget her bed was covered with stuffed monkeys. Also 4th of July picnics when she showed me how to write my name with ssparklers. Will never forget her smile and kind heart..

Debbie was like a second mother to me when growing up. She was the epitome of love and warmth. My best memories growing up are at the Wolfe house, making funny commercials, eating extra buttery popcorn, and being welcomed into a family full of love and warmth. Debbie was the kindest, most genuine person I have ever met. Her legacy of love will live on forever. I am eternally grateful for the huge roll she played in my life when I was growing up. So much love to her beautiful and amazing husband and kids. I love you all.

For My Old Friend Debbie

I lost an old friend I´ve known since we were five or six. Crawling through the picket fence in my backyard to have lunch at her home was my first venture with a new friend.
Though she moved, she remained in the same town.

Friends through grammar school and HS and a bit more, then Life carried us down different roads, and somehow we lost touch.

But whenever I look back at the moments that shaped me, I often see Debbie there - laughing, unbelievably kind, and full of light.

Some friendships live quietly in the corners of memory, but their light never fades. Some like Debbie just move into the heart, where they stay forever young and loved.

I will continue to see you - smiling and carefree.

Enjoy your next journey. Love to your Mom, Dad and Wayne.

Love
