Michael Thomas Davey
June 3, 1949 - February 17, 2026
We lost our beloved husband, father, Papa, brother, uncle, nephew and friend suddenly on February 17, 2026. Michael Thomas Davey was the most selfless man - one who worked tirelessly his entire life to provide for and protect his family.
Michael was born on June 3, 1949, in
Van Nuys, California, to Warren and Violet Davey. At the age of 16, his family moved to the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley, where he graduated from Santa Ynez Valley Union High School. He went on to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, earning a double major in Mechanical and Agricultural Engineering - a reflection of both his intelligence and strong work ethic.
While attending college, Michael married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Francesca Maria Silva. They shared 56 years of marriage and had just celebrated the 60th anniversary of their first date on December 18th. Francesca was his person - his greatest love and the center of his world.
Together, while in college, they welcomed two daughters, Laurie Jolynn and Lisa Micaela. After Michael began his career with Parsons Engineering in Pasadena - where he dedicated just over 40 years - the family settled in Agoura Hills and later welcomed their son, Adam Michael.
Michael loved coaching and cheering on his children in sports, tending to his backyard, taking annual trips to Yosemite and spending time at the ranch with family. He had a deep love for nature, loved talking to his animal friends, watching the Big Bear eagles and San Simeon sea lions online, loved to tease people and had the most hilarious and witty sense of humor, enjoyed watching rocket launches from Vandenberg, catching the sunset rays at the end of each day, cheering on the Dodgers and golfing in his younger years - a sport at which he truly excelled.
His greatest pride and purest joy were his three children and his seven grandchildren: Karli, Jacob, Kendall, Madison, Makayla, Colton and Hayden. He attended more soccer, baseball, football games and volleyball tournaments than anyone could count. Being their Papa was one of the greatest honors of his life. Watching them grow into remarkable young adults brought him immense pride and happiness.
Michael's family was his life. He always did everything in his power to ensure they were cared for, supported and loved - no matter what. His life was cut short just as he was about to fully enjoy the fruits of his hard work. We will never understand why this happened and our hearts are forever changed.
He is now reunited in Heaven with his beloved son Adam, his parents, grandparents, in-laws, son-in-law, nephew and many other loved ones we miss dearly.
Michael leaves behind his devoted wife, Francesca Davey; daughters Laurie Robinson (William) and Lisa Cobb; grandchildren Karli Huerta (RJ), Jacob Robinson (Brooke Keeling), Kendall Robinson, Madison Cobb, Makayla Cobb, Colton Davey and Hayden Davey; aunt Kathy Salvione; brother Steve Davey (Theresa); sister Diana Deferville (Steve); and many cherished nieces, nephews and lifelong friends and family.
Our lives will never be the same without our Michael - our Dad, our Papa. We will honor him every day for the rest of our lives by loving deeply, showing up for one another and carrying forward the strength and devotion he modeled so beautifully.
He will be missed beyond words and loved forever.
Graveside service will be held Saturday, March 7th, 2026 at 11:00 am at Oak Hill Cemetery 2560 Baseline Avenue, Ballard, California 93463.
