If there is a baseball team in HEAVEN,I'll bet "AL" is on the team. He was truly a remarkable man,who never met a stranger! I will long remember the talks we had as we would run into each other at publix or winn-dixie supermarkets."Rest In Peace!" " But you can't crown HIM till I get there!"

I met Mr. McCoy in 1986 on FAMU's softball field. He was so helpful to me and the other players. He would pitch to us, coach us and challenge us to be the best we could be. I truly feel fortunate to have known Mr. McCoy and blessed that he was so gracious to share is knowledge and expertise. He will be greatly missed. God Bless You all.

To the McCoy family: Mr. Al McCoy was a blessing to us all. He loved baseball, his Rattlers, his family, and lived his life in a way that taught "our kids" how to value themselves and become true "young ladies" and "young men". May you know that our sympathy is with you at this time. God Bless. Valerie, Jess, Julie & Owen.

To the McCoy Family,

Mr. McCoy has been an inspiration to hundreds of young men to include myself. I met Mr. McCoy while he was working at Cobb Middle School in Tallahassee where he established a club called the Young Men of Success. Many of the ideas that he taught me are still with me today and I sincerely thank him for taking time to share his knowledge. He will surely be missed, but his contributions to society will be present forever.

Sincerely,

Mr. McCoy was well known for his kind heartedness and stood fast in encouraging all students around him to excel and strive to do better than what society expected. He was always there to listen, counsel, lend money if needed, feed you if needed, give you a late pass to class if needed, help get you out of trouble if needed, etc. It is with great sadness to hear of the lost of such an honorable man. Just this past Thursday, I was speaking with a classmate from Rickards High School -C/O '97 about how Mr. McCoy used to come by and visit me when I worked at Whataburger. He would come in get a drink and ask me if I needed anything. Mr. McCoy would always leave something - even if I said no. He was my gardian angel for that period of time, but now God has called him to rest. So rest in peace Mr. McCoy - you have truly earned your milk & honey and can now walk the streets of gold. May God's mercy and peace be with his loving family, you are in our prayers.
