Cleo Williams Obituary

Minister Cleo Williams

Minister Cleo Bernard Williams, 71, of Live Oak and formerly of Monticello and Tallahassee, answered the Master's call on Friday, November 25, 2011 in Tallahassee. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Triumph, The Kingdom, Church of God in Live Oak with burial at Bolen Community Cemetery in Monticello. Viewing-visitation will be 10-2 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE 850-942-1950. A wake will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday at the Pure Church of Righteousness in Live Oak.

A Monticello native, Minister Williams had worked at Florida A&M University in the Food Services Department and later as a custodian with the State of Florida. In Tallahassee, he attended Watson Temple, University Church of God in Christ and First Born Church. He also sang in the FAMU Gospel Choir and was well-known in various churches throughout the area. Survivors include his father, Elliot Williams and a brother, Douglas (Debra) Williams, both of Monticello; sister, Lettie Powell, Live Oak; nephew, Larry (Ruby) Scott, and a surrogate son, Cedric Famble, all of Tallahassee; four surrogate grandchildren and his close cousins, the Scotts of Monticello; along with numerous other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Martha Hogan Brown.

It was with sadding surprise that we learned of the death of Cleo. I know that it is always a terrible shock when someone so close to you passes away. We will missed seing him when we come down for a vist. I have known Cleo, every since I was a very young child. He and my mother was very closed ( Margret Scott). He was a man of God and he will be missed. Please accept my deepest Sympathy, especially his cousins the scott family in Monticello, Fla. We are praying for the entire family. Cecil and Julia Scott.
