DeVane Mason Obituary
DeVane Mason, 80, of Quincy passed away Friday, August 19, 2011.
The service will be graveside, Monday, August 22, at 6:00 PM in Hillcrest Cemetery , Quincy. Family will receive friends at their home, today, August 21, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the chairty of your choice or to First Baptist Church of Quincy, P.O.Box 70, Quincy, FL, 32353.
A native of Shellman, GA, DeVane had lived in Quincy since 1950. DeVane retired as the Gadsden Co. Property Appraiser and from the Florida National Gaurd in 1980. After this he worked in the private sector until taking his current job as Gadsden County 911 Coordinator. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Quincy. In his spare time .......he golfed!!!
He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Peggy Parramore Mason, his daughter and son-in-law; Ada Clair and Billy Wiisanen, his grandchildren; Mitchell and Lydia Wiisanen, a sister; Doris Parramore, and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; Troy Franklin and Clara DeVane, two brothers; John Frank and Robert H. Mason.
INDEPENDENT FUNERAL HOME (850)875-1529 is in charge of arrangements.

Ms. Peggy and Ms. Doris, DeVane will missed by all. He was a good man and influenced many lives. I will always remember the advise and wisdom which he offered me when I was lost and needed guidance. If you need my help for anything please don't hesitate to call me. Our prayers are with you and the family.

Peggy,
It goes without saying, but we were so sorry to hear the sad news about DeVane. I (Mary) feel a special bond between the three of us - being "Georgia crackers". You two quickly became my favorite people in the Sunday School Class. I have a lot of regrets and one of them is not keeping in touch during DeVane's illness. Sorry we can't be at the Visitation today, but we have our granddaughter - we certainly plan to be there tomorrow. We pray that God will give you the strength needed to bring you thru this sad time in your life. WE LOVE YOU !! MARY AND LARRY WOOD
