Grandad had a way of making whatever you are doing fun. Two great memories I had with him were when he and I were fishing on his new dock, which didn't have the railings on yet, and I fell in. He tried to hand my his pole with a hook on it to get me out. The other is when he and I found an old hatchet with no handle on it, we spent all day making it a perfect handle. I love my grandad and will miss him.

I always enjoyed every moment I got to spend with my grandad. He was the funniest person I ever met and always made everyone laugh. The best prank he ever played on me was when I was fishing and he was throwing out catfish food, which was coming from a peanut can, and I never relized that he was taking it from there. I figured he was just eating nuts and I asked for one and soon I relized that it wasn't a nut and that he had given me catfish food. He never once let me live that moment down. I will always remember the great memories he gave me. I love you grandaddy!

My Dad was with his four children in every event of their lives. Along with our Mom he shared every happy and difficult moment with us. Dad always had words of encouragement and a laugh to share. We all recently had the most wonderful memories of sharing our parents 50th wedding aniversary. I know that as my life goes on I will wish he was here sharing and laughing with us. But if we look our Mothers eyes we will see our beloved Dad there smiling back. I will miss you until the day you greet me in heaven. I love you forever...your daughter Beth

Like many people I have many fond memories of my dad. One that comes to mind is a favorite spot we loved to visit when I was a teenager. Three Islands was an oasis in a city with lots of trees and water. We would go there to fish, camp and enjoy each others company. Dad loved his family and friends and they loved him. He always made time to be with them. I will always remember the good times with him and especially the many practical jokes that he has played on people. Everytime I feel the tears well up in my eyes it just takes the memory of one of his jokes to bring back a smile.

My memories of you will always be with that smile. I love you, Rod

Granddad taught me so much about life. One thing that he taught a lot of us was how to fish. This past summer, all we could catch were turtles. He told me that the only way to get it off the hook was by cutting it's head off. Of course he was joking. You could never tell if he was serious or not. I love my granddad and i will miss him so much.

Grandaddy,

I can't believe you're gone. I can't believe I couldn't be there in person to say everything I had to say. Whether you know it or not, you and Grandma are on my mind everyday and I think about the things you have both taught me.

Had I even known you were sick....

I miss you so much but I know you are in a better place and I will see you again one day. I love you Greendad.

Dewey was a unique individual, from his sense of humor to his many talents. I met Dewey around 1988 when he was building his and Joan’s home across the street from the lot my wife and I had purchased. In 1990 when we decided to build our own home, Dewey was there to lend his talent and experience and without him we would never have been able to complete our home. His sense of humor made a difficult undertaking an adventure. One of the things I remember most was when for example; Dewey would tell me we needed a board 38 & ¾ inches long. I would cut the board and hand it to him. He would put the board in place then say “Uh oh!” When I ask what was wrong, he would say “It fits.” He got me on that one a couple of times before I caught on. Dewey and Joan were good neighbors and friends to everyone in our neighborhood. We will miss you my friend.

An easy smile, great talent, patience and a joy to be around. Those qualities are what I'll remember most about Dewey. May God bless Dewey's soul for eternity.

All of us here at the Florida Dental Association were sadden to hear of your loss and the passing of this wonderful man, our friend, Dewey. He was always a ray of sunshine and joy when he was here. We will have reminders of his handywork surrounding us to always remember him in our own special way. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

I knew Dewey for only a short time. I was his nurse during his final days in the hospital. It was an honor and a privilege to care for such a fine man and to get to know his wonderful family. I will never forget any of them. Bonnie Stewart, RN

I knew Dewey for many years. There was no finer man than he. He was a handyman at our company is his spare time. He helped me personally on many occasions. We always used to laugh and joke about things around the office too. I will miss him greatly.
