Duncan Groner Obituary

Duncan Lawrence Groner III Duncan Lawrence Groner III, 61, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008, in Tallahassee. A celebration of Duncan's life will be held at 6 p.m. EST on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, At Bevis Funeral Home Chapel, Tallahassee (850-385-2193 or www.bevisfh.com). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leon County Humane Society, 413 Timberlane Rd., Tallahassee, FL 32312. Duncan was a native of Hartford, Conn., and moved from Jacksonville to Tallahassee in 1989. He retired after 30 years with the State of Florida, Department of Corrections. He was a volunter with the Leon County Humane Society and was of the Episcopal Faith. He is survived by a sister, Betsy Groner of Jacksonville Beach; a brother, John V. Groner of Palm Desert, Calif.; his grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Courtney, Jonathan, Jasmine, Daniel and Samantha; two neices, Ashleigh and Faith; and nephew Austin. He was preceded in death by his son, James Arthur Groner, and his parents, Duncan G. and Elizabeth Groner.
