Edward Flagg Obituary

Edward A. Flagg

Edward "Ed" A. Flagg, 51, passed away on August 1, 2015 in Aurora, CO. He was born in Japan, and lived in many places in the U.S. and spent several years in Germany as part of an Air Force family. After his own military service in the Navy as a Cryptologic Technician (Interpretive), and Mid-East Analyst specializing in the Arabic language, he went on to earn an A.A. at Tallahassee Community College, where he worked in the Language Lab, and a B.A. with Honors, M.A., and Ph.D. in English at The Florida State University, where he taught composition, creative writing, and literature. Ed was a writing teacher at Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado, before moving to New Zealand, where he was the Faculty Research Coordinator and a Business Tutor at the Southern Institute of Technology in Invercargill, and an Academic Performance Developer at the Unitec Institute of Technology in Auckland. After returning to the U.S., Ed worked as an Online Writing Consultant supporting graduate students in their research and academic writing at Keiser University.

Ed is survived by his wife and son, Amy Cashulette Flagg, and Keenan; his parents, Loretta and Richard A. Flagg, Jr.; his sister, nephew, and niece, Kim Zimmerman, Adam Zimmerman, and Lauren Thomas; and his brother and nieces, Rick Flagg, Jenny Metcalf, and Katy Flagg; as well as his family by marriage. He will be greatly missed.

A private memorial service for the family was held August 6, 2015. Arrangements by Two Rivers Funeral Service (www.tworiversfuneralservice.com).
