Elvis Mathis Obituary

Elvis Wardell Mathis Elvis Wardell Mathis, 54, a contractor, died Tuesday, July 26, 2005. The service will be at 3 p.m. EDT Saturday at Rich-ardson's Family Funeral Care (850-576-4144), with the Right Rev. Chris A. Burney officiating. Burial will be at Southside Cemetery. The funeral cortege will assemble at 2:30 p.m. EDT Saturday at 620 Dent St. A viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. EDT today at the funeral home. He was a native of Tallahassee and a former member of Elizabeth Popular Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Tallahassee. Survivors include two sons, Elvia Matthews and Kendrick Matthews; a daughter, Wonda Underhill; four brothers, William Matthews, Roosevelt Smith, Ulysses Smith and James Mathis; his devoted companion, Brenda F. Williams; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
