Eula Ledbetter Obituary

Eula Pierce Ledbetter MADISON - Eula Pierce Ledbetter, 98, died Sunday, June 20, 2004. The service will be at 2 p.m. CDT Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Madison. Burial will be at Mapelhill Cemetery in Harrison, Ark. Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, Madison, FL 32340. Beggs Funeral Home Madison Chapel (973-2258) is handling arrangements. She had been a resident of Madison County since 1979. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Women's Club, the Garden Club, the Book Club and the Bridge Club. She enjoyed painting, playing piano, crocheting afghans and playing games with her great-grandchildren. She began teaching at age 17 in a one-room school house, teaching first through eighth grades. She taught in north Arkansas for many years, until her retirement. Her greatest joy in life was the blessing of knowing her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. J.D. Scruggs; three grandchildren, Michael Blake (and wife Linda) of Henderson, Texas, Rachael Adams (and husband Mike) of Fort Pierce and Suzanne Hooten (and husband Gibson) of Olive Branch, Miss.; and nine great-grandchildren, Charissa and Joshua Blake, Zachary , Jared, Caleb, Caitlin and Jacob Adams and Michael and Joseph Hooten. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Oliver Ledbetter.
