Herbert Forehand Obituary
Herbert Benjamin Forehand, age 73 entered into rest September 8, 2016. Herb was born in Blountstown, lived in Panama City till joining the US Navy. He then worked for NOA before moving to Tallahassee in 1973. He retired from the Florida, DOT with 27 years of service. Herb was a member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Forehand and Inez Sorensen; sister Ramona Atkinson and brother Donald. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Pat Forehand; son Devin (Jocelyn) of Tallahassee, daughter Toyia Hatten (R.J.) of Bozeman, Montana; brothers Norman, Kenny and Randy of Panama City, Cary of CA; sisters Boncille Lamar of CA, Sandra Alexander of TN; two grandchildren Tanner and Summer Forehand; and his fury companion Amy. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home, N Monroe St. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at John Wesley United Methodist Church with burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. with military honors at Tallahassee National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee or St. Francis Wildlife Association. Claude and I were so sorry to hear about Herb. We enjoyed attending the Christmas parties with you and always felt welcomed in your home. We were travelling the morning after hearing the news and hated we had to miss the service for him. Our prayers for your entire family.
