Jessie Forbes Obituary
Jessie Lee Johnson Forbes, 80, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Tallahassee, Florida. Funeral services will be 4PM, Saturday, May 5 at Friendship P. B. Church with burial at Southside Cemetery.
She was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee and a cook.
She leaves her heritage of four daughters, Betty Maxwell (Nathaniel), Cynthia Powell (Darrell), Lucy Knox (King David) and Cheryl Mickens (Walter); two sons, James Johnson and Jackie Johnson (Faye); six sisters, Riney Taylor, Caldonia Jackson, Patricia Chaires, Dorothy Washington, Eleanor Atkins and Carolyn Chaires; one brother, Robert Lee Chaires; fifteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, twenty-seven great great-grandchildren, nine great great great-grandchildren; a cherished friend (sister-in-law) Rosa Lee Arnold and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

My Auntie Jessie Lee
Auntie I thought about your lovely smile today in the sparkle of the morning sun.
And then I heard the angel say to me
“Her work on earth is done.”
I thought about your laughter today
The laughs we shared, food, good times and fun.
And then I heard the angel say
“She's at peace little one she's home.”
I thought I felt your touch today in the breeze that rustled by.
And then I heard the angel say
“Her spirit never dies.”
Although I know you've left us for your home so far above.
Again an angel appeared and said
“But Felicia, Jessie Lee has left you with her love.”
Although Auntie I would miss you
And I know we shall meet again someday
On Sunday you received your wings
And showed us all you had to fly away.
Again the angel appeared to say
“In our spirits you're with us every day.”
Sleep on Auntie and take your rest, truly we loved you but God Loved you best.
