Jimmie Powell Obituary
Jimmie Lamar Powell, Sr., 74, of Quincy, died on Friday, June 26, 2015 in Tallahassee. He was a member of St. James AME Church where his service will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 2, 2015 with interment in the Powell Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be from 3 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy (850-627-3700). He is survived by his sons, Gerald Lamar Powell and Jimmie Lamar Powell, Jr (Rosetta), both of Buford, GA; siblings, Gwendolyn Powell Robinson of Quincy, William A. Powell, III (Willie Rose) of Miami, Charles C. Powell, Sr. (Pauline) of Quincy, Anthony A. Powell (Michelle) of Quincy and Sterling A. Powell (Rose Anne) of Orlando; in-laws, Eily Anthony (Francis) of Portsmouth, VA, Bobby Anthony (Jerlean) of Spotsylvania, VA, Eugene Boglin of Tampa and Geneva Dasher of Newark, NJ; three aunts, Lennie Winthers, Marie Austin and Thelma Powell; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Powell Scholarship Fund, 3760 Devenwood Way, Buford, GA 30519.
