John Adams Obituary

John Lee Adams

Tallahassee - JOHN LEE ADAMS, age 75, died January 15, 2021 in Tallahassee, Florida. John was born in Fort Pierce, Florida and grew up in the north and central east coast of Florida. He was a graduate of the Florida State University College of Business with a major in Finance. He served the citizens of Florida for many years as a financial and budget analyst in the Office of the Governor under several administrations and as Administrative Services Director for the Department of Insurance and the Public Service Commission.

John had wide interests and an insatiable curiosity about how everything worked, including learning languages and history, bicycling, botany and photography, but his true passion was his family. He never ceased to enjoy researching and devising ways to interest his grandsons in learning about any subject. He loved God's creation and helping his grandsons explore it. He had a subtle wry sense of humor and could always make his friends and family chuckle. His love for his wife of 38 years was one of tender and constant devotion. He attended the Timberlane Church of Christ.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Smith Adams, his mother Doris Posey Adams, and his brother Jerald Wayne Adams. He is survived by his wife Suzanne Ford Adams, son John Bradford Adams (Rachel), and 4 grandsons, Jackson Bradford Adams, William Michael Adams, Joshua Lee Adams, and Matthew Gabriel Adams, all of Tallahassee.

Due to the virus pandemic, a private family service will be held at a later date.
