Wow! Just found out. What a super person who always had a smile on his face. Back in the Courthouse days I would see him almost daily. He would walk up to me and say "give me one" (meaning he wanted my latest joke), and then laughing as only he could, walk away. John and Pam were at my wedding in 1999 at the Springer, What Memories! Sending positive thoughts and energy to Pam and their family members.

Pam, Drew & Family, my heart is broken with you and for you; Sending you my thoughts and prayers for strength and comfort. One of my most favorite memories of John was the morning after the March 2007 tornado in Columbus, GA. Our office had been damaged beyond occupancy. I rounded the corner to see him standing at his make-shift desk (a lowered tailgate) in our office cul-de-sac, pen and legal pad in hand...leading us...one of the many things he did best. We were up and running in a temporary office two days later! Your wings were ready but our hearts were not. Rest in peace my mentor, friend, and family.

I have know John for most of my professional career in public accounting. As business neighbors in the office park, we would pass each other early in the mornings or late at night after a long day at the office. As managers, we shared business concerns and John was always a pleasure to associate with. He was a fine man and did our profession well by how he conducted business and treated his staff and clients. I will miss my friend and look forward to our meeting again another day. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and his loyal staff and partners. Our profession and our community suffered a great loss in his passing. Rest in peace my friend.

I have known John 32 years and had the enjoyment of playing racquetball with him for many years at Courthouse 1, as well as him being my CPA for that time. Although we didn't see each other much during the year, we always took an hour or so during our tax filing meeting to catch up on each other's life, and reminisce about the past. I will surely miss that time spent with him.

A truly wonderful person to all who knew him; be that for a day, week, or many years. A man who always seemed to remain positive under even the most stressful situations. My heart pours out to all who loved him.
