I just found out tonight, and am heartbroken so I can imagine it magnified times thousands for the family. She was a close friend of mine, and a mother figure to me. She mentored me and guided me through this life for the past 8 years after I moved up here. I know her family meant everything to her as well to those she chose to call friends,I am honored to have been one.

Laura was in the class ahead of me at Leon High. My birthday, October 11, 1938. (a year and day later)..At first, since she was older, there was lots she did...before me (like: Drive...) While we've not seen each other in 50 years, we spoke on the phone from time to time. I spoke to her just a few weeks ago. I'll miss her....Anita Barrett Palmer (Cherry Log, GA)
