Lillie Stokes Obituary
Evangelist Lillie Doris Robinson Stokes, 64, of Havana, a retired Gadsden County District Administrator, died Thurs. Jan. 28, at home. Funeral service will be 10am Sat. Feb. 6 at Tabernacle MB Church in Tallahassee, with burial at Hopewell AME Church in Havana. Evangelist Stokes will rest in the mortuary from 3-7pm Fri. Feb 5 at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6-9pm Friday at Havana Elementary School. She leaves to cherish her memory: She is survived by six children: daughter: Tamela H. Maynor; sons Demetrius D. Stokes, Maurice D. Stokes, Antonio C. Griffin, Sr. (Crystal), Freddie L. Griffin, Jr.; step-daughter: Shelia Stokes-Randolph (Kelvin); 23 grandchildren, 38 god-children; siblings: Anna Ruth Strickland, Hattie Ruth Boykins, Oscar Robinson (Debbie), Nathaniel Andrews (Plassie), Eugene Clem (Wiletta), Clarence Clem (Theresa); sister-in-laws, Sharon Bouie (Oscar), Deborah Stokes, Glenda Stokes; brother-in-law, Ronald Stokes; and a host of other relatives and friends. Richardson's Tallahassee Chapel (850) 576-4144, is honored to serve the STOKES Family.

Ms. Stokes was my favorite teacher. She had many many children to give her attention. The six children she Mothered was her most precious. My heart is still heavy from hearing of the passing of Doris, Lillie Doris, Ms Robinson or Mrs Stokes! I grew up in New Jerusalem with Doris or Lillie Doris. I lived down the hill and she lived up on the hill. Ms Robinson taught me Algebra II in 11th grade at Havana Northside High School and I love math. Mrs Stokes was the person I called when I couldn't explain a math/algebra problem to a student. I could always call her even from Bedford Heights, Ohio. I am praying for the family during this time of bereavement! I am sure she has already joined the Heavenly Choir! I loved her voice!
