Lloyd Peeples Obituary
Lloyd Chandler Peeples, Sr., ("Lloyd") died peacefully on the morning of September 18, 2017, at his home in Valdosta, Georgia. Lloyd was born on November 27, 1923, in Bradenton, FL to Hilda (Register) and Minor Peeples. Underage, he joined the Army and fought in World War II. He returned home and married Betty Irene Thompson in Valdosta, GA on February 26, 1946. After moving to Gainesville, FL, Lloyd completed high school, and he and Betty started a family while he attended the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida. After graduation, as a Registered Pharmacist he worked in various retail and hospital pharmacies. Eventually, Mr. Peeples worked for the Florida State Board of Pharmacy, and, ultimately, led the State Office of Professional Regulation for Central Florida.
Lloyd loved and worshipped God, his adoring wife, his family, and friends. He loved the outdoors and hard work. Lloyd was a successful golfer, a voracious reader, an education advocate and enabler, and a lover of history. A loving, caring, and adored Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and friend of many, he shall be greatly missed.

Lloyd is survived by his wife, Betty, his daughters, Mrs. Carl Meece (Susan) and Toby P. Nickson; his grandchildren, Jon David Peeples, Lloyd Chandler Peeples, III, Mrs. Benjamin Fecko (Kristin), Lauren Meece, and Meredith Luke; great-grandchildren, Lloyd Chandler Peeples IV, Lillian Davis Peeples, Charles Benjamin Fecko, and Violet Elizabeth Fecko. He was preceded in death by his son Lloyd Chandler Peeples II.
A funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church of Valdosta, Georgia on Friday, September 22, 2017. Interment was in Wellborn, Florida.

We loved and respected Lloyd when we knew him at the Board of Pharmacy office in Tallahassee. He and Betty had a perfect example of a marriage done right. Thank goodness for eternal life. We will see him again there. Love to you Betty.

Lloyd was a great man. I worked with him in Orlando at the Dept. of Business and Professional Regulation. I always appreciated his leadership and guidance as well as a good friend. He will be missed.
