Pamela Stickle Obituary

Pamela Dedicos Stickle

Pamela Dedicos Stickle died of natural causes at her home September 1, 2016.

Pam was born January 7, 1953 and was a lifelong resident of Tallahassee. She retired from the Florida Department of corrections after 32 years of service.

Pam was creative. adventurous, and had many interests. She developed a love for music at a young age, becoming a member of her school band, playing the flute. She later developed an interest in the guitar and became accomplished on that instrument. Pam also had an enduring passion for the Beatles and their music as evidenced by her collection of Beatle's memorabilia.

During one of her younger phases, to the family's horror, Pam began riding motorcycles both on and off road which resulted on her temporary nickname of Daredevil. Pam also was a talented amateur artist and enjoyed creating drawings as a hobby.

Pam was an avid football fan of both FSU and the PRO's. She never missed an FSU football game and you would find her sporting FSU collegiate wear and jewelry on most any day of the week. .

Pam came from a family of Chefs and family owned restaurants and inherited a love for cooking from Southern to Coastal to Gourmet. She was a member of a group that shared the same passion for cooking. Pam loved gardening and always had blooming flowers and plants around her front door. The Satsuma and Orange trees were beautiful and shared with family and friends.

However, first and foremost was Pam's love for animals, particularly her Shetland Sheep dog, Lancer (short for Lancelot). She and Lancer competed on the Florida circuit in the obedience and agility arena, winning many ribbons and "Best in Show".

Pam is survived by Chuck Stickle, her husband of 27 years, sister Barbara Dedicos Surles, brother Ron Dedicos (Pat), nephews Bryan Surles and Scott Surles, nieces Keri Dedicos Welhart (Kris), Jenna Dedicos Couf (Larry) and great nephews and nieces, and First cousin Marilyn Fuller who shared a lifelong friendship.

She was preceded in death by parents Andrew and Vivian Dedicos, Grandparents Alva and Dora Andrews, William and Emmaline Dedicos and her beloved Lancer.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Beggs Funeral Homes, 3322 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Fl 32311, (850) 942-2929. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., one hour prior to service.

I will always remember Pam's smile and willing to help you. We worked together at the Dept of Corrections. Her office was decorated with The Beatles which made me smile when I went in. Rest in peace Pam. My prayers are with her family.
