Peter Harris Obituary
Peter Edward Francis Harris III - "Trey" passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the age of 15.
Peter is survived by his father and mother, Peter and Karema Harris, his sister, Caldwell Harris, paternal grandparents, Bishop Francis and Elvira Harris, Tallahassee; maternal great grandmother, Margie Horn, maternal grandparents, Frank and Marva Macklin, all of Pensacola; uncle Daniel Harris, Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania, aunts Frances Harris Revels (Cameron) Hamden, Connecticut, Safee Harris Broxton (Derek) Tallahassee, Gloria Tyms Hood (Gregory) of Tucson, Arizona, uncles Rick Tyms (Heather) of Pensacola, Nathaniel Tyms of Pensacola, and aunt Charlotte Macklin of Jacksonville. He has a host of relatives and extended family members.
Peter was born on November 9, 2001 in Tallahassee. He was a student at Leon High School who played tennis and loved the digital arts. Trey was a very popular and talented young man with an innate sense of kindness. He was a joyful soul who touched the lives of many people in the community.
A funeral mass is scheduled for noon on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at The Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More located at 900 W Tennessee St (Woodward Avenue), Tallahassee. Family Visitation is scheduled for 11:00 am at the church. Father Tim Holeda will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Trey's life.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Leon High School in the name of Peter Harris III. A scholarship fund has been established and will be awarded annually to a graduating Leon senior.

Karema and Caldwell,
Tonight I learned of the loss of not only a son and brother but of your husband and father. My heart is heavy and I pray for you both.
Caldwell, you were just a little girl when I last saw you, once for your 1st birthday and then, your parents had a wonderful Christmas party at your home. You see, your mom and I were both pregnant when we first met in Lamaze class. What wonderful memories? Karema, I have thought of you all so many times and lost your contact information. I am so saddened, Peter was such a wonderful man, with a contagious laugh. If you are still in Tallahassee, I would love to see you again. God bless and comfort you both.

To the Harris family,
I am so very sorry, I know there is nothing that can ever be said to lessen the pain of losing Trey. No words will ever be able to bring him back, no matter how much i wish they could. I hope you can find comfort in knowing that Trey is and forever will be one of the most loving and charismatic people i have ever met. I remember on the first day of freshman year I walked into class, and he was one of the first people I saw as entered the room. He smiled at me and he asked me how I felt about Kanye West, from then on we became close friends. It was this Warm and kindness that Trey possessed that made him so beloved by all. I am so honored to have had the opportunity to know him. Even though his time on earth was drastically short, we can still be proud of the accomplishments and impressions he made. I know that I will forever be strive to be a good person and care for others as he did. Wishing you well and keeping you in my prayers.

Dear Trey,
I still think about you often. I remember you were my first friend, the first one I took home with me from school. We then went to the same elementary school at Maclay and still stayed close. Though you left in 4th Grade, we still hung out outside of school about 3 to 4 times a year, and they were always some of the most fun times I had. You were the kindest person I've ever met and were always quick with a joke so funny it'd almost have me in tears. I remember all of my birthdays, my parent's derby party's, making videos, and hanging out in your parent's cellar. You were always like a brother. I miss you, love you, and praying for your family still,

To the Harris Family,
I wanted to take a moment to tell you that you continue to be in our prayers during such a difficult time. I was one of Trey's second grade teachers at Maclay School, and my son, Jack, was good friends with his big sister, Caldwell.
I have memories of Trey as a young child hugging his big sister and being hugged by her. Also, I remember fondly when a big smile would light up his face which reflected his kind and gentle heart.
We will continue to keep your family in our hearts and prayers.

Trey and I became friends in elementary school at Maclay. When we were in the fourth grade, Trey once said to me, If anything ever happens to you, Frank, I'll write a book about you and call it My Friend Frank.' As the years went by, I didn't see Trey that often. However, I was blessed to talk to him again several weeks ago. I will miss him. Rest in peace, My Friend Trey.
