Steven Menard Obituary
Tallahassee - It is with great sadness that the family of Steven Lawrence Menard, 71, announces his passing on December 21, 2018 at his home in Tallahassee. Steve graduated from Florida State University with a bachelor's degree in physics and math in 1969.
He started working as a computer programmer at the Florida Department of Education data center for four years and then worked for 45 years as a computer systems programmer on mainframe systems for the FSU affiliated Northwest Regional Data Center. He said his most important role was customer service and he enjoyed helping others figure out how to do something that they did not previously know how to do.
Steve will be remembered by his wife of 49 years, Anne; his daughter, Angela Printiss and son-in-law David Printiss, and granddaughter, Genevieve Printiss of Carrabelle, Florida; niece Cherish Patino, and nephew Christopher Menard of Tallahassee and other lifelong friends and relatives.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal services will be held. Gifts in memory of Steve can be made online to www.Rebuild850.org and the Southern Poverty Law Center (www.splcenter.org), a non-profit organization.

I only met Steve once at his wife's retirement party. We were sharing stories and laughing about our time in college at FSU. After something he said I laughed and said "You were a hippie". He grinned and winked and said "I still am". What a good guy! My condolences to the family. The world was a better place with him in it.
