Timothy Thomas Obituary

Timothy Rhys Morgan Thomas

Timothy Rhys Morgan Thomas, born June 6, 1958, only child of the late Dr. Alan and Uni Thomas, music professor and concert violinist at FSU, passed away in Miami on Sept. 29, 2013, after a tragic motorcycle accident. Tim graduated from Maclay School, before leaving to attend Swarthmore College. Tim adored his family's country home in New Hampshire. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast who loved the adventure of riding the highway. He moved to Mt. Vernon, Va., where he worked in the car industry. He later graduated from Penn State University Law School before returning to Florida where he worked as a respected Assistant Attorney General and was held in very high regard by his colleagues and appellate judges. Tim was a brilliant man who impressed all with his powerful intellect. He will be missed by his beloved girlfriend, Jill Kramer, with whom he shared years of unforgettable, fun experiences. He will also be missed by an aunt, many cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held in Miami, Thurs., Oct. 10 at 3:00 p.m.

I did not know Tim except through the wonderful things his cousin Debbie told me about him. The world has lost a great guy.

Dear Jill,

Our thoughts and prayers are with you today for the memorial service. We are so sorry we are unable to attend. Bill, Jeff, and Forrest have had a enjoyed rehashing old childhood memories of their friend "T.R." I only met Tim after we were married and he'd pop in and out of our lives every few years -- but always knew we loved him and he loved us. I have memories of him sitting at my kitchen table telling my boys of their (Bill and Tim's and others') old high school shenanagins. Bill's mother recalled how Bill, Wicks, and Bruce would sit at her kitchen table doing homework while go ole TR sat in the family room watching TV. They would get stumped on a problem, and they would holler to him for help and he'd sit there without reading the problem and give them the answer. I can soooo picture that. Then Bill will have to tell you the other stories, as they are too much for a guest book. We are proud of him and how happy he was to have found you and his career. Much love, Marianne

Profoundly brilliant. We went to Maclay together and it was my privilege to have known him. His entire Maclay family celebrates his life and grieves his loss.

I didn't know Tim that well, but I knew of the kind of man he was through the long friendship he had with my brother, Paul. He was a good, loyal friend, well admired and well respected by many. He had such a love for adventure, and was a really intelligent guy!

He has touched us all in many ways, directly or indirectly, and will be missed.

Love Lives On.

I only met Tim one time..he was a very sweet, smart man. I met him through Debbie Sprengling one of his cousins. She adored him and I understand why. He gave me a movie, Angel Eyes, I will cherish it in memory of him. He will be missed by many, I'm sure.

Tim has been one of my closest friends for the past 22 years. I don't know how many people he bailed out of various car problems over the years. He has also been my go to guy on computers and other technology. Mostly he is just one of those friends that you can always depend on for anything. It will be a more lonely world without him. 'Till we meet again.

I have just lost a precious gem in my life. My cousin, Tim, was one of the best friends I have ever had. I am going to miss, so much, our conversations on the phone regarding politics, law, etc. But most of all, I will miss our conversations about our past relatives and the fun we had in our childhood.

Tim was always there for me, no matter what, as he was for everyone else.

I could write pages about this fantastic man, but will hold back.

He will always be in my heart and I love him dearly.

He was so happy that he had finally found "the love of his life", Jill, and never stopped praising her.

Rest peacefully, Tim.
