Barbara Bonfe Obituary

BONFE, Barbara D., of St Petersburg, Fla., died September 27, 2008. A former resident of Patchogue, N.Y., she was the loving wife of Albert L. Bonfe. Born June 16, 1934, in Mechanics-burg Pa., she was a retired nurse educator specializing in wound care at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of the Patchogue Methodist Church and sang in the choir. She is survived by her children Robert, Michelle and Marcie Matthews; daughter-in-law, Vanessa, and son-in-law, Brian Matthews; and four grand-children. She is also survived by her sister, Jayne Yuri Malin, and her mother-in-law, Anna C. Bonfe; as well as many nieces and nephews and brothers- and sisters-in-law, who loved her dearly. There will be a visitation 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, and Wednesday, October 1, at Beach Memorial Chapel, St. Pete Beach, Fla. (727)360-5577. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday October 2, 2008, at Pass-A- Grille Beach Community Church, Pass-A-Grille, Fla.

Oh what a loss. I will always remember your kindness and professionalism.
I will always admire your dedication as a nurse to your patients and to me , who as a young idiot nurse who knew nothing about wounds or colostomys until you. I also will never forget your wonderful retirement party. Much love to your family.
