Beverly Baragar Obituary

BARAGAR, Beverly Ann (Smith) Beverly died in her home on January 1, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1932 to Leo and Pauline (Kautzky) Smith in Des Moines, IA. She worked several jobs in Bancroft, IA to save money to attend Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, IA. After graduation she moved to Omaha, NE and worked as a medical technologist at St. Catherine's hospital. While in Omaha she met and married David Barargar. They had 63 years together. In that time they raised four children, Mary (Dan) Eberly, Elizabeth (Gary) Pusey, Michael Baragar, John (Amy) Baragar. Beverly was the strength of the family. David's career at Kellogg's took them to many places. With each move she made sure the family had a nice home, good schools and a loving, stable environment. She often said "My family is my life." She loved to read and any library was her happy place. She also enjoyed knitting, playing golf and watching Jeopardy. She was an excellent cook and an expert at trivia and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed her last year in Salisbury, MD where she made many friends and explored the Eastern Shore with her family. She is survived by her four children and seven grandchildren along with her three brothers, Bob Smith, Tom (Pat) Smith and Don (Donna) Smith. Sweet dreams, Mama. A service for the family will be held in Tampa, FL in February. Visit www.boundsfuneralhome.com to share stories and memories with the family. Bounds Funeral Home
