My husband, Jay, and I met Bill at one of the Athens High Reunions. We enjoyed visiting with him. We talked as old friends, sharing news about mutual friends and events of our high school days.
We enjoyed his stories of his tennis days with Dan McGill.
Our prayers and thoughts are for you and your family, Linda.

I was in elementary school at Barrow School in Athens, Georgia, and through the 8th grade with Bill, before he moved away. The class of 1960 at Athens High School thought of him as one of our own, even though he did not graduate with us. I also have something in common with Bill, we are both alumni of the University of Arizona.

I will miss him, as will the entire class at AHS.

Linda, I was really shocked and saddened to learn of Bill's passing. He and I were school mates while he was in Athens and I so enjoyed renewing our friendship when he returned to our reunions. He told me that though he had graduated from another high school, he considered his friends in Athens as "his people" and we all felt the same way about Bill. His tennis legacies are small when compared to his legacies as a person and a friend. I will certainly miss seeing him at future reunions and conversing with him by email. You and your family are in my prayers.

I know that Bill will always be with us, watching over us all, smiling. He was a wonderful kind man, and I know he is with our Lord Jesus Christ, probably playing a game of Tennis. Please know that my heart is with all of you at this time, and that I know we are all better people for having had the opportunity to be touched by and loved by such a kind hearted man. God Bless.

Although Bill Lenoir was a member of the John Donnelly Table Tennis Club of Sun City Center for a relatively short time, he was very much admired for his professionalism, his good character and his warm sense of humor. Bill will be missed by all of our members who were fortunate enough to have known him and to have played with and against him. Bill and his family will be remembered in our prayers.
