Brian ELLIS Obituary

ELLIS, Dr. Brian G.

29, left us Oct. 23, 2014. He had a courageous battle with aggressive cancer, and he was brave until the bitter end. Brian was born in St. Petersburg at Bayfront Medical Center. He died at St. Anthonys Hospital despite the best care and treatments. He attended Bear Creek Elementary School, Northside Christian School, and Boca Ciega High School Center for Wellness and Medical Professionals. He received a Bachelors of Science degree at the University of Central Florida in 2008 in molecular and microbiology. He worked at Lynne M. Ellis MD, PA until beginning medical school at St. Matthews University, based in Orlando with basic sciences on Grand Cayman. He was the top of his class and scored very highly on all licensing exams. He played piano, saxophone and liked to sing. He was active with roller blading, running, kayaking and gaming. He was very talented with his hands, creating fine 3D paper models. He was ready to begin his career in surgery with an acceptance to a residency program in Baltimore. One month before moving, he had a rapid onset of abdominal pain and was shocked to learn of advanced, metastatic, and aggressive cancer. His chemotherapy continued for five months before his was stricken with pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome which took his life. He was sweet, bright, thoughtful, generous, caring, a good friend and close to his family. Grieving for him are hundreds of friends and colleagues, and his family: Parents, Lynne and Michael; brothers, Christopher and Austin; sister-in-law, Tisha Ellis, and future nephew; grandparents, Marie Rohde, Sylvia and Marvin Ellis; uncles, Dennis Rohde, Steven Ellis, Larry Ellis, Gary Lonsbury; aunts, Rosina Rohde, Marian MacGuire, Sheri Ellis and Denise Ellis; cousins, Lauren Ellis, Stephanie Ellis, Marshall Ellis,
