I had the privilege of playing football and wrestling with Brian years ago. He was a tremendously hard worker, a fighter, and a stand-up guy. The world could use more McNeely's. My heart goes out to his young family. I hope they one day find comfort knowing they had such a dad/husband/son as Brian, even if it was too short.

The mixture of deep sadness and great joy is hard to comprehend. None of us would want to have Brian back with us in the state he was. Yet we will all miss him greatly, and that saddens us. The great joy of knowing he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ lessens our pain. Brian is in the best place there is, Heaven. May our gracious Lord soften the pain Brian's Loved Ones and Friends feel. I pray that your tears are lessened with time but that your love for Brian will endure forever. God loves all of us and with faith as small as a mustard seed, we will at some time join Brian in the Church Triumphant. Until later Loving Husband, great Father, good Friend, and wonderful 2nd Son.

I only knew Brian for a year, but it was enough for him to have a special place in my heart. We played softball together and worked at McNiff. Every time I see/hear about the bears I always think of him and "da bears!" I'm so sad to hear about such a tragic loss. He is such a wonderful guy. Thoughts and prayers for his family

This news is surprising and deeply saddening. Though Brian and I hadn't spoken since high school, I am sure he showed the same heart fighting this disease as he showed everyday on the football field and wrestling mat. RIP Brian.
