Bridget Deidre O'Brien

O'BRIEN, Bridget Deidre, 67, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014. Bridget was born in Tampa, May 14, 1946, to Mary Jo Corral O'Brien and Matt M. O'Brien. She attended the Academy of the Holy Names, Georgetown Visitation, and H.B. Plant High School. She graduated from Marymount College in Boca Raton, FL. Bridget was a sponsor for the Merrymakers Club and a maid in the Gasparilla Court of 1968. In her younger years, Bridget was an avid tennis player and fierce competitor. Later, she enjoyed her time as a tennis team member at the Tampa Yacht and Country Club. She was a past member of the Junior League of Tampa and Founder's Garden Circle. Starting in the 1990's Bridget worked at Roosevelt and Dunbar Elementary Schools, and the Hillsborough County Mental Health Center. Her proudest achievement was raising her two children, Mara Toole Schultz and Westcott Toole. All who knew her will miss Bridget's loyal heart, keen sense of humor, and jocular nature. Bridget was predeceased by her parents, Mary Jo O'Brien and Matt O'Brien; daughter, Maria McNamara Toole Schultz; brothers, Michael R. O'Brien and Brian A. O'Brien. She will be dearly missed by those who survive her: beloved son, M. Westcott Toole; grandson, Brian T. Schultz; son-in law, Ragen Schultz; brothers, Mark J. O'Brien (Kelly) and Padraic C. O'Brien. Nieces and nephews: Matt O'Brien, Chad O'Brien, Scott O'Brien, Anne O'Brien Roussel, Jesse O'Brien, Katie O'Brien, and Paddy O'Brien. She cared deeply for her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. A special mention for Pete the Pug, her devoted companion. A mass to celebrate her life will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2:00 PM on April 24, 2014.
