She loved her niece

Today, April 2, 2025, marks one year since we lost my beautiful niece, Carly. She was just 29 years old—a vibrant, radiant soul with so much life left to live, taken from us far too soon. Her laughter could light up the darkest room, and her spirit was a gift to everyone who knew her. Carly had dreams, passions, and a heart full of love that touched us all so deeply.
What I’ll always hold closest is the memory of her singing. Carly loved to sing, and her voice—oh, it was beautiful, like a melody that could lift your soul. I can still hear her now, pouring her heart into every note, filling our lives with music and joy. She had a gift that made the world brighter, and it’s one of the things I miss most. But there’s something else I ache for every day—her calls. Carly would ring me up whenever she needed advice or help with something, her voice bright and familiar, saying, 'Aunt Sherry, you got a minute?' I miss those moments so much—her voice, her trust in me, the way she made me feel so needed and loved.
And then there was her love for my daughter, Abigail. Carly adored her niece with all her heart—she spoiled her rotten, goodness, showering her with affection and little treasures. The bond they shared was pure joy, a beautiful thing to witness, and it’s a piece of Carly that lives on in Abigail’s heart.
It’s hard to put into words the ache we feel every day without her. There’s an emptiness where her presence used to be, a quiet that echoes with memories of her songs, her smile, her boundless energy. She was more than a niece—she was a daughter, a sister, a friend, a bright star in our lives that we never imagined would fade so soon.
We miss her in every moment—through the big days and the small ones, in the milestones she should have been here to celebrate, and in the ordinary joys she made extraordinary. Our hearts break knowing all she could have been, all she deserved to experience. But even in our grief, we hold tight to the beauty of who she was. Her time with us was too short, but the love she gave us, and the love we have for her, will last forever.
My sweet Carly—I know you’re in heaven now, singing with the angels, your voice ringing out in a place as beautiful as you are. We’ll carry you with us until we see you again."
I love you,
Aunt Sherry

This was the first time I met Carly. She came to California to spend the summer with my neighbors Sherry and Brian. I was expecting to meet her, but didn't think we'd spend everyday during summer together. We had so much fun swimming in the pool, going to the beach, camping and taking endless photos together. She was a wonderful person and made that summer so memorable for me. Carly will be missed. ❤

Carly was always smiling & a joy to be around; we are grateful to have known her. Each nurse loved her like a sister, daughter, etc., she brought happiness into our hearts. My favorite memory: being Netflix enthusiasts. I will rewatch "Love is Blind" now in her memory. She got me hooked, telling me about all the hilarious personalities on that show!! I will never forget how we laughed just talking about it and with Jose, who was by her side, just like her incredible family that I loved spending time with each night. Her soul is vast, and I’m blessed to have another amazing person, albeit gone too soon, as a guardian angel. All positive thoughts and memories are with us nurses, patient care technicians, and other team members, and we send them all to you as well.
Thank you for all your smiles and friendship, Carly. I am crying just writing this.

Carly Fletcher:
Words can’t describe what you and Gracie meant to me. Nothing will take the time away we spent together. You lit up the room with ur smile! I couldn’t have asked for a better woman to have had entered my life. Seeing you go isn’t the end, but the start for you and Gracie to play together once again! I’ll make sure ur family gets some great photos you took!!!! Everything is hard right now, but at one point, you made it easy. Thank you for everything you did. Holding Gracie before she went with you by my side wasn’t the hardest thing I’ll endure. It’s losing you. It was an honor to know you and speak with ur family. When you look down, I’ll look up, just to see you smile once again.

I always loved hearing about Carly and her many...many accomplishments from her mom. I especially loved hearing how close they were and the love that they shared. Not only were they mother and daughter, but they were true friends. There are no words that could express the depth of our sorrow. Carly's spirit will live on forever for all who knew her and loved her.
My beautiful daughter; my heart is shattered in a million pieces.

My beautiful daughter, I don’t have the words to describe the pain and brokenness that I feel. I am so blessed that God chose me to be your mother. You were the best daughter a mother could have asked for. Just like any family we had our ups and downs, but we always had each other. It was me and you against the world. You are my heart and soul and always will be. I am sooooooo proud of you and all that you accomplished in your short life. I have a huge hole in my heart that will never be filled. I love you more than life itself and you will never be forgotten as you’re always on my mind.

One random day, I came across a girl playing PUBG. She was funny and GOOD at the game. We played daily for like 3 years. I am truly sad to hear this news. Although I haven't played in a while, I will jump back on to PUBG in honor of Carly aka "Barely In" on XBox but aka "Carmen" to our group of friends. May God bless her and all her loved ones.

Carly, it just doesn’t seem real. We met at the age of 11, and we’ve been friends ever since. We didn’t talk all the time, but when we did, it was like we were those middle school kids again. You have always been so dear to my heart. I will forever cherish the friendship and memories you gave me. Until we see you again, sweet friend.
