Carolyn D. WINKLER

WINKLER, Carolyn D., age 69, of New Paltz, NY, passed away in Sebring on August 8, 2012. She had been a resident of Sebring since 2000. She was born in Bridg-eport, CT, the daughter of Charles G. Lang of Sebring, FL and the late Jane R. Dzialzo. She graduated with a BS in education from SUNY, New Paltz, NY in 1968 and an MS in Education from SUNY, New Paltz in 1973. Carolyn worked for the New Paltz Central School District for 20 years teaching elementary education. Survivors include her husband, Peter A. Monteforte; a son, Peter Charles Rinaudo and his wife, Diane; and granddaughter, Jessica Fraser of Krumville, NY. She is survived by a brother-in-law, Robert Ziegler; and nieces, Jennifer Ackerbauer and Christine Palmer. She is also survived by a step-son, Peter J. Monteforte; and several grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Vaughn D. Winkler; her son, David Gerald Rinaudo of New Paltz, NY; her sister, Jane Ziegler of Sloansville, NY; and a grandson, Adam Fraser of Krumville, NY. Carolyn is a member of Glendale Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Queens, NY, and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church of New Paltz, NY, and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church of Avon Park, FL. She was a member of many educational organizations, including the NEA, NYSTA, NPCSDA, The Elks of Sebring and Sun N' Lake Golf Club. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Contributions may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice.
