Cedar HAMES Obituary

HAMES, Cedar

On February 16, 2018, Cedar Hames left for an extended vacation to Paradise. Cedar's creative genius and professional integrity won the admiration of countless employees and clients, and innumerable awards. An artist, designer, collector, boxer, and world traveler, his diversity enriched us. His graciousness refined us. His style, wit, and boyish grin charmed us. We will miss his silent chuckle and his awe of life. Those who knew and respected him are invited to join his sister, three daughters, five grandchildren and friends in the Grand Ballroom of the Mahaffey Theater on Friday, May 18, 5-8 pm. Please share memories and photos at davidcgross.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to stpeteartsalliance.org or humanesocietyofpinellas.org.

Oh my, Cedar, such a long time ago you hired me to be your media director at Cedar Hames & Associates. What an amazing community you created there, the heart of St. Pete. You were always kind, encouraging, and got why I continued my education. I´m sorry we lost touch but sending this out to you with a huge thank you and wishes that your next adventure is soul satisfying.

I'm beyond grateful for the time we got to spend together before you moved on. It was both a joy and an honor being a part of your journey. Despite the world swirling around you in a thousand different ways, you handled it all with the same grace, humor and resolve that made you such a success in life. As time passes, I realize more and more how much of an impact you've had on the way I look at things. Thanks for the lessons, and for bringing Lexi into the world. I'll miss you, Cedar.
