CLEMENT, Claudette of Tarpon Springs, FL, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 15, 2013. Claudette was born in Denver, CO on Dec. 30, 1934 and lived in several places including Grand Junction, CO, Seattle, WA and New York City before moving to Tarpon Springs at age 10. She graduated from Tarpon Springs High School and attended Florida State University. Claudette began her career in sales at her mother's business, Edith's Gifts. She later started a successful career in Real Estate working with Tharin Realty, Dynamic Realty and partnered in Riverside Realty before establishing Claudette Clement Properties. Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph W. Benjamin and Edith D. Benjamin, and husband, C. Archie Clement. She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Foss and husband, Rob of Tampa, Shawn Clement of Holiday, FL, Heather King and husband, Jay of Tarpon Springs, FL; grandsons, Robert Foss, Tyler Foss and Chase King; granddaughter, Kendall King; brother-in-law, William J. Clement and wife Lee; several nieces, nephews and devoted friends, especially Jeanette Porter. She was a former member of the Pinellas County Arts Council, Pinellas Board of Realtors, Tarpon Springs Rotary Club and Tarpon's Old-Timer's Club. She was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church of Tarpon Springs and also recently enjoyed attending Church on the Bayou Presbyterian Church. Claudette enjoyed a variety of interests and talents including a love of travel, tennis, reading, sewing and especially art. She was an accomplished artist and an excellent cook and hostess. With her adventurous spirit she took her grandchildren on cruises, helicopter rides and kayaking, took art lessons in Tuscany and family vacations in NYC, Alaska and Canada. She was a consummate businesswoman, and especially devoted mother and grandmother. She left us sooner than we hoped. She will always live in our hearts and we will hold her memory dear. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Aug. 23rd, 2 pm at the Faith Chapel, First United Methodist Church in Tarpon Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tarpon Springs Public Library, the Church on the Bayou or the American Cancer Society. Vinson Funeral Home, 727-937-6111

Claudette helped me on the last few days of her being here, it was my first time meeting her the beginning of this month. She wasn't feeling well, I thanked her for not allowing me to be homeless and helping me find a place to live here in Tarpon Springs, she apologized for not getting back to me quicker. I told her that was the least of my worries I had just wanted to make sure she was good. We sat down at her desk and said a prayer and I felt this energy coming out from holding her hand and praying. I hated seeing her in pain and not feeling good. She touched my life and I barely knew her but I will never forget her. God bless
